"This place is a true Miami institution. The undisputed home of the original Cuban frita. As a local, l've been coming here since I was a kid, and it's one of those spots I recommend to everyone visiting Miami. The flavor of the meat patty is unlike any other burger you've ever had. It's uniquely Cuban, perfectly seasoned, and completely unforgettable. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the people and the atmosphere. Unlike most tourist-heavy spots, you'll find more locals than visitors here. Generations of Cuban families, including older regulars who've been coming their entire lives. The servers speak Spanish, move with purpose, and treat everyone like family. It feels authentic in the best way possible. For this visit, we ordered the ham croquettes (fried fresh and absolutely delicious), two fritas, I had mine al caballo (with a fried egg and cheese) while my husband went with the original and a pan con bistec. Simple food done perfectly, full of flavor and nostalgia. Don't skip the guarapo, a freshly pressed sugarcane juice that is a must when you're here. If you want a real taste of Miami, not a watered-down tourist version, this is the place."

"We were looking for somewhere chill to eat after the beach and little did we know El Rey De Las Fritas was the perfect spot AND we was right by the Calle Ocho strip!! Almost like diner vibes. We got some steak & eggs, empanadas, croquetas, & their Cubanito Steak Sandwich. The sandwich threw me off cause I thought it was gonna be a Cuban with steak but this was next level! All the carne was so tender tasted amazing! The empanada was a little odd because, just like the waiter told us, the meat was directly in the middle and it was like one huge crust around the edge. The meat tasted good but I wasn’t sure why they’d make it that way. It didn’t show on the menu but of course they had fire Cafe con Leche so we ordered some with dinner and 2 more to go! This place was SO good that we wanted to go back another day!"

"The cubano frito was BOMB!!!!!! the potato is so thin and crispy and adds the perfect texture to the sandwich. Highly recommend. We also got the pan con bistec and it was good! Added some of that hot sauce to the bistec and made it even better. The staff were super friendly and the prices are great! If you get a chance to stop by for a cubano frito I recommend that you do!"

"Me and my boyfriend enjoyed the empanadas, the fritas, and the vaca frito. Everything was seasoned so well. The environment was also nice. Not overcrowded, but if you're a short girly like me the bar may not be the place to sit. Lol"

"Incredibly authentic little Cuban cafe where my server didn’t speak English, which i loved! I felt like i was in another country and made myself right at home. I had the frita especial con queso and it was delicious. The bread, the meat, the crispy fried potatoes, everything was I went back later and got coconut flan to go and the coco was very sweet but delicious. I would get the regular flan next time. I’m thinking about going back tomorrow."
